Find answers to common questions about accessing and logging in to MyAccount.
How do I log in to MyAccount?
You can log in to Insubuy MyAccount using different information, depending on your policy type and the details available to you.
For Individual/Family accounts, you can log in using Certificate Number, Member/Insured ID, or Email. Each option requires additional information:
- Certificate Number requires Date of Birth
- Member/Insured ID requires Policy Effective Date and Date of Birth
- Email requires Date of Birth of any person on the policy.
For Group accounts, you can log in using Certificate Number and Email Address.
Login using a Google account is also available.
Can I log in to MyAccount using my Google account?
Yes, MyAccount supports Google login. Users can log in using a Google account even if no policy has been purchased yet. For a purchased policy to be linked to MyAccount, the user must be logged in when making the purchase or link the policy afterward.
Do I need to create an account to use MyAccount?
No, MyAccount does not require account registration. It does not require users to create a username and password.
Access to MyAccount is based on policy information associated with the insured person, such as the Certificate Number, Member or Insured ID, email address, Date of Birth, and Policy Effective Date.
Depending on the policy type and the selected login method, different combinations of information will be required during login.
What is a Certificate Number?
A Certificate Number is a unique series of numbers and, in some cases, letters assigned to your insurance coverage. In some policies, it is the Member ID or Policy Number. Your Certificate Number is listed on your ID card, in the email confirmation sent at the time of purchase, or both.
If your policy covers multiple people, some insurance companies issue one Certificate Number for the entire policy; others assign a separate Certificate Number to each insured person. If separate Certificate Numbers are issued, you may enter either the primary insured’s Certificate Number or the Certificate Number for the specific person whose details you would like to access during login.
For Trawick International plans, enter the Certificate Number only. Do not use the Policy Number, as it functions as a group number.
What is a Member/Insured ID?
A Member ID or Insured ID is a unique number assigned to each insured person under a policy. You can find it on your ID card, in the email confirmation sent at the time of purchase, or both.
If multiple people are covered under the same policy, each person will have a separate Member ID or Insured ID with a corresponding Date of Birth. During login, the Date of Birth entered should match the person associated with the Member ID or Insured ID used. The Group Number should not be used for login, as it is shared by everyone enrolled in the same insurance product.
What email address should I use for login?
The email address used when the policy was purchased is associated with the account.
If multiple policies were purchased using the same email address, the Date of Birth of any insured person under those policies may work for login. If the policies are not yet linked in MyAccount, the most recently purchased policy will usually appear first. After logging in, additional policies may be linked for easier access and management within the same MyAccount profile.
If different email addresses were used for the original purchase and later policy extensions, the email address from the original purchase is usually associated with the account.
For policies purchased for someone else, the purchaser’s email address may be associated with the insured person’s Date of Birth.
What is a Policy Effective Date?
The Policy Effective Date is the date when your insurance coverage begins.
If multiple policies were purchased, the Policy Effective Date should match the policy associated with the Member or Insured ID entered during login.
If the same policy was extended multiple times, the Policy Effective Date may be the original effective date or the effective date of any extension.
Whose Date of Birth should be entered during login?
The Date of Birth entered during login should belong to one of the insured persons covered under the policy.
Why is my email address not working for login?
The email address entered during login should be the same email address used to receive the policy confirmation email. If the email address was changed through a confirmed update request, login may require the updated email address instead of the original one.
Can I log in to MyAccount without a policy?
Yes, you can log in to MyAccount without a policy by using your Google account.
Why am I unable to log in to MyAccount?
Login issues may occur when the information entered does not match the account's policy details. Differences in spelling, wrong date of birth formatting, or incorrect certificate or membership ID numbers are some of the issues that may prevent a successful login. If policy information was updated after purchase, the updated information may be required during login.
Can I log in if I purchased the policy for someone else?
Yes, you can log in if you purchased the policy for someone else, such as a parent or family member. Logging into MyAccount only requires the combination of policy and account information requested for the selected login method.
What causes MyAccount to become locked?
Too many unsuccessful login attempts will temporarily lock access to MyAccount. While MyAccount does not use a username and password, entering incorrect combinations of required information during login triggers security restrictions to protect account and policy information.
Users are encouraged to double-check the information entered during login. The selected login method should use the correct combination of policy and account details.
How many unsuccessful login attempts are allowed in MyAccount?
Security restrictions begin after 5 unsuccessful login attempts using Certificate Number, Member/Insured ID, or Email Address, together with incorrect policy details. Continued unsuccessful login attempts after the initial restriction will result in longer lockout periods.
How long does a MyAccount lockout last?
After 5 unsuccessful attempts, access will be temporarily locked for 30 minutes. MyAccount automatically unlocks after the waiting period ends. If failed login attempts continue and reach 10, access will be locked for 24 hours.
Google account login follows Google’s authentication process and may not follow MyAccount’s login restrictions.
What should I do if MyAccount is locked?
MyAccount automatically unlocks after the applicable lockout period ends. Locked-out users only need to wait for the restriction period to expire before attempting to log in again.
Before retrying, users are encouraged to double-check the selected login method and the information entered during login.
